What to Expect on Pirate Night Aboard a Disney Cruise 🏴☠️
Ahoy, adventurers! One of the most unforgettable evenings aboard a Disney Cruise is none other than Pirate Night—a ship-wide celebration packed with swashbuckling fun, tropical flavors, and a dazzling fireworks show at sea!
Whether it’s your first Disney Cruise or you’re a returning castaway, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Pirate Night:
Dress Like a Pirate (If Ye Dare!)
While costumes aren’t required, most guests love getting into the pirate spirit. You’ll receive a pirate bandana in your stateroom, but many cruisers go all out with eye patches, striped pants, boots, and pirate hats. From simple accessories to full pirate regalia, you’ll fit right in no matter your style.
Bandanas are subject to availability, but provided in your stateroom during the day of your scheduled Pirate Night. If you don't receive one, you can always swing by Guest Services to ask if they have any for you and your pirate crew.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique even offers pirate makeovers on the day of Pirate Night! You can book these when your booking window opens. All packages below take approximately 30 minutes to apply and are designed for Guests ages 3 and older. Please also note that all Pirates League packages are available on Pirate Party Nights only.
Tip: Pack costumes or accessories ahead of time, especially for little ones who love to dress up like Captain Jack Sparrow or their favorite pirate princess!
A Pirate-Themed Feast
Dinner on Pirate Night is a special event in itself. Each of the main dining rooms features a pirate-inspired menu. Your servers will even be dressed for the occasion!
Note: On 3-night sailings, there will be no pirate-themed menu so you don’t miss out on one of the typical offerings of the 3 dining rooms.
Pirate Fun for the Whole Family
Throughout the ship, you’ll find pirate-themed activities and entertainment, including games, trivia, crafts, and meet-and-greets with Disney characters dressed in pirate gear. Check the DCL Navigator app once you are onboard to see what is planned for the day!
Keep your camera handy—these character interactions are extra special on Pirate Night! Characters are dressed up and there are special backdrops and other photo opportunities! You may even spot characters like Peter Pan, Captain, Hook, and Smee out and about!
Deck Party & Fireworks at Sea
The night ends with a high-energy Pirate Deck Party—complete with music, dancing, and a stage show featuring Mickey and friends. Then, the grand finale: Disney Cruise Line’s signature fireworks at sea! It’s a magical moment you won’t want to miss.
You should be able to view the fireworks from anywhere on the main pool deck, but depending on where you stand, the waterslide may be in your view a bit. For a better view, you may consider heading to the deck right above the pool deck.
Pro Tip: Arrive early to grab a good viewing spot on deck and get ready to dance like a buccaneer!
