Specialty Coffee on Disney Cruise Line: Everything You Need to Know Before You Sail
If you’re the kind of person who needs a real coffee order to function, let’s talk about your coffee options on a Disney cruise.
Here’s your full breakdown before you set sail.
Is Coffee Included on a Disney Cruise?
Sort of — and this is the part that catches a lot of guests off guard.
Regular drip coffee is included in your cruise fare and available at the buffet (Cabanas or Marceline Market depending on the ship), the rotational dining rooms, beverage stations on the pool deck, or from room service. So if you’re happy with standard coffee, you’re covered at no extra cost.
But if you’re after a latte, cappuccino, espresso, cold brew, or anything from the specialty menu, that comes with an additional charge. It’s not included in your cruise fare, and it’s easy to assume it is until you get that first bill.
The Coffee Card Hack You Need to Know About
Here’s how to make specialty coffee work in your budget: grab a coffee card on embarkation day.
When you purchase your first specialty coffee or tea onboard, make sure you get the Café Fanatic stamp card. You get a stamp for each specialty coffee or tea you purchase and after 5 stamps you get a free non-alcoholic specialty coffee or tea! You can even earn stamps for alcoholic beverages with coffee!
Where to Get Coffee Onboard
Cove Café is your main coffee destination and it’s found on all the Disney Cruise ships (except for the Disney Adventure). Think espresso drinks, specialty coffee, and pastries — it’s the go-to spot for your daily order.
This is an adults-only coffee spot, which means you can get your coffee fix and enjoy some quiet, kid-free time at the same time. It’s an underrated combo for parents who want five minutes of peace with their caffeine.
One of my go-tos is the Salted Caramel Coconut Latte!
Order a hot coffee drink to get a surprise character on top! This is a must for a classic Disney Cruise photo opportunity.
Don’t Forget Coffee on Debarkation Day
Here’s the tip most people miss: you can still get coffee on debarkation morning, before you walk off the ship. Use your last stamp, get your final caffeine fix, and ease the sadness of disembarkation just a little bit.
The Bottom Line
Specialty coffee on a Disney cruise is absolutely worth it if you’re a coffee person — you just want to walk in knowing it’s not included, and knowing the coffee card is the smart way to go.
