What Is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?
It's the same magical makeover experience from the Disney parks, brought onboard. A "Fairy Godmother in Training" transforms kids ages 3–12 into princesses, knights, or even Disney Cruise Line captains, complete with hair, makeup, and a costume reveal. There is even a special Pirate makeover available on itineraries that include a Pirate Night.
The onboard version tends to feel a little quieter and more relaxed than the park locations — smaller space, smaller crowds, more one-on-one attention for your kiddo. We’ve done both and I prefer the experience on the ship!

How to Book
Appointments are first-come, first-served, and they fill up fast — this is not a "we'll figure it out onboard" kind of activity if you have your heart set on a specific time. You can book:
Online through Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or website once your booking window opens (this is determined by your Castaway Club status), or
Onboard, check with Guest Services or at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique directly (though popular slots may already be gone by then).
My advice: book the moment your Castaway Club window opens, especially if you're sailing during a busy holiday or school break.
Best Day to Book It
Sea days tend to be the sweet spot. Kids are usually a little more relaxed (no port excursion to rush back for), and it pairs nicely with other character or experiences happening onboard the same day. If later in the day or evening is the only time available, not to worry! Our daughter loves to wake up and put her dress on the next day anyways.
If you are able to book an early appointment, you may be able to align it so it occurs before the Royal Gathering (a free princess meet and greet that requires a reservation). Appointments generally run 30–45 minutes depending on the package.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel your reservation, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled time to avoid a per-person cancellation fee. The cancellation fee also applies to no-shows.
Is It Worth It?
Here's my honest, non-sponsored answer: if your child is in that magical 3–12 window and has been dreaming about this, it's absolutely a "do it once" kind of splurge — and the memories (and photos) are worth it. If budget is tight, the lower-tier packages still deliver the hair, makeup, and reveal moment without the full gown price tag. We’ve sailed many times and only brought dresses for my daughter to wear and still had an amazing time onboard without the full princess makeover treatment.
